KristinaVISION, a new move of the Spirit in Evangelisation
Kristina Coooper finds out about a new initiative by young Catholics from different lay movements and communities to use Alpha to evangelise in London. She writes: "In 1998 Pope John Paul II invited all the new lay movements and ecclesial communities to come together to celebrate Pentecost with him in St Peter’s Square. At this meeting he publically affirmed their importance. He also called them to a new ecclesial maturity and asked them to co-operate together for the good of the Church ..." Read more

The Call of the Good Shepherd
Pope Benedict XVI explains how he sees his calling as pope: "My real programme of governance is not to do my own will, not to pursue my own ideas, but to listen, together with the whole Church, to the word and the will of the Lord, to be guided by Him so that he himself will lead the Church at this hour of our history ..." Fr ChrisWe are the Body of Christ
Fr Chris Thomas writes: "About twenty years ago I was visiting my brother in the Philippines. For a few days I lived in the lap of luxury and I wondered where all the poverty was that I had seen on the television and read about. After a couple of days my sister in law took me to visit a shanty- town. We went to the school where the children were being taught. They were so excited. They had probably never seen a white face before and after they had sung a song of welcome they ran across to me and began to touch my skin and point at me and laugh with one another ..." Read more

Waiting for the Anointing
Roy Hendy shares how it was when he was at his weakest that God showed up and he experienced one of the biggest anointings of the Holy Spirit in his life: "People have different ways of preparing for talks and ministry. I usually pray and fast for a couple of days before I go anywhere. During this time I will browse the scriptures and see if anything strikes me and if God has a word. In this way I will perhaps get about 15 or so points that at the time seem disconnected but emerge as a theme. In the end, when I actually get to the venue, however, I often say something completely different, and the bible study has been more about preparing me to minister rather than preparing a message for the people whom I am speaking to ..." MaryEyes to See
Dr Mary Healy writes: "Mary the Mother of God was the first person to be baptized in the Holy Spirit: “the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.” In her, it was such a powerful grace that all it took was to be in her presence and others would be baptized in the Spirit too. “She entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb: and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.” (Lk 1:40-41) ...." Read more

Listen Now!

LET GOD LOVE YOU

Be silent
Be still
Alone. Empty
Before your God
Say nothing
Ask nothing
Be silent
Be still
Let your God
Look upon you
That's all.
He knows
He understands
He loves you with
An everlasting love
He only wants to
look upon you
With His love
Quiet
Still
Be

Let your God
Love you
