When the time of Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were.Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them.And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim. (Acts 2.1-4)

SPECIAL PENTECOST EDITION
From very simple beginnings in the 1970s as a duplicated newsletter, we are now printing 8,000 copies of our bi-monthly magazine and sending it all over the world. Among many leaders worldwide GOODNEWS is seen as one of the truly authentic voices of the Charismatic Renewal, and our articles are re-printed in many local and regional magazines and newsletters. We have reached this point thanks to the vision, energy, and gifts of the pioneering editors, Fr. Ian Petit, Fr. Derek Lance, and Bob Balkam, and since 1986 due to the untiring commitment of Kristina Cooper. She will of course continue as Editor, supported by her team at Allen Hall, and special mention must be made of Lucia Ossa whose charm and persistence have seen our circulation increase three-fold over the last 18 months. Also very important is the work of our Editorial Committee, to which Fr. Pat Collins from Ireland will now be adding his considerable gifts and experience. So this is a moment to give thanks to the Lord for his faithfulness, to express our appreciation to all those who have used their gifts to make GOODNEWS what it is today including our ever-helpful printer, Rufus Drake, and his team at Ellesmere Press, and to pray that we will all remain faithful to the vision for the magazine as it continues to unfold. this Pentecost 2002 issue we have reached an exciting moment in the
history of GOODNEWS. We can now describe GOODNEWS as the magazine of
the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, serving the Church in England, Ireland,
Scotland and Wales. Today we are delighted to announce that the Irish
National Service Committee for Catholic Charismatic Renewal have joined
us as partners in GOODNEWS, and we are also in the process of establishing
closer links with Scotland and Wales.
