Background: Born 20th March1934 in Elgin, Moray. Studied at Blairs Junior Seminary and the Pontifical Scots College, Rome. Curate at St Mary’s Cathedral 1959-62. Parish priest of St Joachim’s and St Annes’s, Wick and Thurso, Caithness 1962-1977. Bishop of Aberdeen 1977-2002. Archbishop of Glasgow 2002. : Born Mourne Abbey, Mallow, Cork. Studied at St Edmund's College, Ware, Herts. First Parish at Shrine of Our Lady of Willesden (1967-70); Diocesan Mission Team (1970-73) Pastoral Director, Allen Hall Seminary (1973-79); Asstant Administrator. Westminster Cathedral (1979-85); Rector of Allen Hall (1985-90); Administrator of Westminster Cathedral (1990-93); Auxiliary Bishop in Westminster - West London (1993); Bishop of Lancaster (2002-)
