I thought it would be an easy, straight forward job. I bought the material, cut it up, tacked it together, got out the machine - and that's when it all went wrong. The machine had not been used for a LONG time so it made weird noises and I had to take it apart and oil it before continuing. Then the tension was wrong which meant a lot of adjusting - I managed to lose the balance completely and caused even more problems. But now I've finished, it's all worthwhile. In the "old days" I wouldn't have wasted my time going to the shops to try to buy the set. I would have just got on and made it. These days we are so used to having everything prepared for us - our clothes, our food, our entertainment. Everything has to be quick, slick and perfect. Well, Amelia is going to have a unique set for her pram this year. It's not mass produced -no brand name! It's certainly not perfect, but it's been made with lots of love. Now, what else can I try? Maybe I can look at my spiritual life. Do I always look for the ready-made,
the mass produced schemes, some-one else's vision? Or shall I try
going back to basics and finding my own way? I might need to "oil
a few thought processes"; to reset my priorities to regain the
perfect balance, but I'm sure that afterwards I'll find that the best,
for me, will be unique and personal and full of His Love. Sue Whitehead.
