Suenens Classics Back In Print

Cardinal SuenensCardinal Suenens great classic "A New Pentecost", in which he shares his understanding about the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and the difference it made to his understanding about the role of Holy Spirit, is back in print thanks to the Fiat Association in Belgium. The group responsible for promoting the deceased Cardinal's insights and teaching has brought together several of Suenens' early pastoral teaching and wisdom in a three volume series called "The Holy Spirit: Life-Breath of the Church". The three books bring together, "A New Pentecost" and several of the Malines documents. "A New Pentecost" is Volume One of the series. Volume Two is "The Charismatic Renewal and Ecumenism" and Volume Three is "Charismatic Renewal and Social Action", "Renewal and the Powers of Darkness" and "Resting in the Spirit". "A New Pentecost" particularly is one of the great classics of the Charismatic Renewal and a must for all those who have lost or given away their copy or never had a chance to read it in the first place.

Cardinal Suenens was one of the great leaders of the Catholic Church, and one of the four moderators of the Vatican II Council, who was given pastoral oversight of the Charismatic Renewal by Pope Paul VI. It is thus particularly fascinating to read his views about the Charismatic Renewal first written thirty years ago in 1973.

It can now be read in a couple of hours, while retaining all the essential main teachings of the Church. It is published by Continuum and retails at £7.99.
