The Other Half
And He said "Tell her about colour blindness and explain how I could change it." And I knew what He meant as I had read an article about it only the previous day. If we look at a page which has a blue number on a green background, and we suffer from colour blindness, we cannot distinguish the number at all. But the Lord was saying He could do something to us which would enable us to see the number. He'd be changing us, not the page, but we'd be amazed by what we could now see. I explained this to my friend and the questions started. "Will I like it? Can I change back if I don't? "Yes, you will like it and No, you can't change back, were the answers! I mean, imagine seeing a world of grey becoming a world of colours - blue sky, green grass, many shades of green trees. One cannot describe the difference accurately to someone only seeing grey. Baptism in the Spirit is a bit like that. The Lord changes us - we experience things differently. Around us things might be the same but we see them in a new way. So I prayed with her and, sure enough, she didn't want to go back! In fact I've never met anyone who did. It's amazing what happens if we are willing to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit Sue Whitehead |
