GOODNEWS HERO DIES
Stephen Ferros, whom we featured a couple of months ago, as
our Goodnews hero because of all the work he did in his parish
promoting Goodnews, selling 50 copies himself alone in his parish
of St Anthony’s in Hendon, died suddenly in May after a
two and a half week illness. He was totally dedicated to the
Lord and Charismatic Renewal, someone who worked behind the
scenes to make things happen. Please pray for wife and his family.
New Catholic Conference For Hereford!
Another new Catholic Conference which has its roots in the Charismatic
Renewal will take place this autumn at St Mary’s High School
in Hereford 22nd-24th October 2004. This is the fruit of two
missions led by Sr Maria Natella OP, who will be the main speaker
at the conference, and a small group have been praying for two
years for renewal in the deanery. Archbishop Peter Smith will
be the main celebrant at the Mass on the Sunday and there will
be a full programme for all the family. For further details

to Fr Tom Kenny, former English NSC member and parish priest
of English Martyrs in Wakefield, who this month celebrates his
Golden Jubilee on 26th July.

Meeting of the Leaders of CCR for the Isles
Two representatives from each of the National Service committees
and teams from Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales met at the
end of June in Edinburgh as a continuation of what has been
felt as a call for the Charismatic Renewal of the Isles to work
together more. This was the second meeting of this small group.
This is a follow up to the very prophetic and larger gathering
that happened a year ago, when about 50 members of the various
committees gathered together at the Sion Community in Brentwood
Essex. The impetus for the initial coming together had come
from Tom Mullen, the Scottish NST chairman and the instant response
of the other committees, confirmed that this call to unity is
something the Holy Spirit seems to be emphasising at the present
time.
Initiatives for the future are being discussed.
