THE OTHER HALF the other half
The most important thing is the Spirit is MOVING! He doesn’t stay still, He is alive, active, changing things, achieving things challenging, teaching, transforming: the list is endless. It’s no good thinking that His presence brings peace and that’ all! He does bring peace and hope and joy and lots of other wonderful gifts, but He will also be very active in and through us, if we let Him. So what is He doing in me today? Do I know? Do I have any idea? It’s
great what He did last year, last week, even yesterday - but what’s
His current project with me? Am I co-operating or hindering His plan?
Is it to transform some part of my life or is it to use me to help
change something outside me? Am I too busy to see what He’s trying
to show me? Am I missing out on something really exciting because
I’ve got today sorted and it’s all under control? My favourite verse is the last one. It starts “deep down in my heart, the Spirit is moving” and every time I sing it I have to ask myself if that’s really true. And then I sing the last two lines. “Deep down in my heart, there’s a mighty revelation - of

“All over the world, the Spirit is moving” is the first
line of a song, which I am sure most of us have sung many times. We
often sing it at the children’s Mass at St Joseph’s, led
by a choir of about 20 children, who all do the actions with great
enthusiasm! Their favourite verse is the one starting “All over
us all, the Spirit is moving” as this entails much shivering
and shaking for everyone (the congregation are rather hesitant to
do this but some of us enjoy participating immensely!).
