NEW NORTH WEST CATHOLIC CONFERENCE THIS SPRING
Liverpool is known for its sense of humour and wit, so its appropriate that the new Northern Catholic Conference, which takes place 20th-22nd May 2005 at the Adelphi Hotel, should have a couple of comics in the line up of speakers. The aim of the conference, which was the brain child of Lord David Alton, Myles Dempsey and Canon Jimmy Collins, is to create a north west event, which combines good Catholic teaching with fun and fellowship like the other well established Catholic conferences such as New Dawn and Celebrate. Those who will be participating in the event, which will be held at the famous Liverpudlian hotel are Scripture teacher, Frances Hogan, ex-gangster, John Pridmore, mime artist, Steve Murray, Lord David Alton, Canon Jimmy Collins, and the two comedians Jimmy Cricket and Radio 2 personality, Don Maclean. The youth stream for the 14 plus age group will be led by Dermott Donnelly and Hexham and Newcastle Youth Mission Team. The theme of the conference is "That the name of Jesus might be once again the music in the air". Further information contact the Goodnews Office 020 7352 5298. The conference is donation only and for those who want to stay overnight at the Adelphi a special rate | has been negotiated.

PREPARE FOR PENTECOST!
Why not run a LIFE IN THE SPIRIT SEMINARS between Easter and Pentecost? You can either invite speakers and use one of the established courses available, or to make things even easier use the "This Promise is for You" video with the talks all given by Charles Whitehead and Michelle Moran, with an accompanying work book. Or you could hold a Pentecost Novena from Ascension to Pentecost to pray for the renewal of the Church and society and unity between all Christians.
