Promoting Catholic culture and spirituality

NEW TEACHINGS FROM DAVE WELLS AND FATHER PAT COLLINS
to help you deepen your appreciation of God, yourself and others.

For the last 30 years a group of people, based around our community in Southport, have been committed to allowing the Holy Spirit to shape our lives and relationships. We are committed to allowing the Holy Spirit to transform our inner attitude to life, and to each other. We come together, and help each other to give thanks to God for all that's good in life. We experience every week that communal praise is a wonderful antidote to fear depression and stress , a wonderful healing balm bringing health to body, mind, spirit and relationships. Dave Wells and Pat Collins spoke at The South West Conference this year, and in their talks they both help us to understand the wonderful topics of praise and thanksgiving.

- Dave's talk entitled " Jonah" helps us to see that gratitude is such a wonderful gift when you are telling others about God.
- Father Pat's three talks ,on the topic of Evangelisation, again help us to see how the gift of praise and thanksgiving can be a very powerful way to sey us free from the painful memories of unjust act's that have hurt us.

The talks are entitled:
1. Jonah - by David Wells
2. The many meanings of Evangelisation - by Fr Pat Collins
3. Charisms and the New Evangelisation - by Fr Pat Collins
4. Friendship and Evangelisation - by Fr Pat Collins

Catholic Testimony Books

Testimony books, telling people's conversion stories, are always very popular and help to make faith real and alive. These usually tend to come from Pentecostal/evangelical sources, so it is great that Alive Publishing who are responsible for Bible Alive, have commissioned two books of Catholic testimonies.

"Released", by Greg Watts, tells the stories of 11 men who have all been in prison and who have found faith, which has transformed their lives.

"Changed", by Tara Holmes, has the stories of 10 young Catholics, who have all been involved with Youth2000. This latter book is particularly fascinating for the insight it gives into the lives of young people today, the challenges they face, and showing how jjljB -- IBjj Christ has set them free to serve him in a new way. This is a really good book to give to young people, as it shows how God can lead a person in their life and show them what their vocation is, whether to be single, married or the consecrated life, in the priesthood or religious life.

Both books are price £6.99 plus £1.50p&p available from:
