Here's a variation on the traditional Advent wreath - it could be used by a family at home, a children's liturgy group or by a class at school. You will need:
First: assemble the ring: Next: Make the messengers:
Then: attach each figure to a glass:
Use felt tips to decorate and write messages (Isaiah) 'Prepare the
way!', (John the Baptist) 'Turn back to God!' (Mary) 'Yes!', (Angel)
'Glory to God!' During Advent light candles in order each week, sing an Advent song (e.g. 'We are waiting to welcome Jesus' - Bernadette Farrell) and read the relevant scripture passage together.
NB As always with candles, safety first!
