DAY OF PRAYER AND FASTING
The National Service Committee of the CCR in the
United States have been setting aside the Friday before Ash
Wednesday as a day of prayer and fasting for the Catholic
Charismatic Renewal and for the renewal of the Catholic Church.
This year it falls on Friday 16th February, the evening before
the Northern Celebration Day at Trinity and All Saints in
Leeds, which commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Duquesne
weekend which helped launch the CCR into the Catholic Church.
Perhaps we might like to join them!
A NEW CaFE COURSE IS LAUNCHED
'THIS IS MY BODY Experiencing the Power of The Mass'. Ideal
for CaFE groups or as a Parish Lent or Advent Course. It includes
two meditations on a filmed Mass based on the words of Fr
Ian Petit's book "This is My Body". These beautifully
filmed sessions are designed to inspire, enthuse and deepen
people's faith. The course includes a number of other teaching
talks about the Mass by a variety of speakers. To complete
the package there is a homily given by Fr Stan Fortuna for
young people entitled, "Eucharistic Amazement".

OBITUARY
Rev Lawrence Hoyle, known to many old timers in the CCR, died
at the beginning of November aged 79. As vicar of Thwing in
the Yorkshire Wolds, he founded Lamplugh House as a centre
for renewal in his vicarage and was the ?rst director of Anglican
Renewal Ministries when it was established in 1980.
