CENTRAL LONDON EXHIBITION OF NEW PICTURES BY ELIZABETH WANG

If you hurry and live in the London area you should just have time to catch the end of the summer exhibition of paintings by the Catholic artist and mystic, Elizabeth Wang, at the French Church off Leicester Square. The theme is “Christ Among Us:Love Made Visible” and the exhibition ends on 19th September. All the paintings come to Elizabeth as spiritual pictures in her prayer time and on Saturday 15th September from 2pm to 3.30pm there will be a time of prayer and reflection on the themes of the exhibition when she will share some of her spiritualinsights.There will also be a talk by Canon Digby Samuels. NIGHT OF LIGHT
Instead of celebrating “Halloween” with witches and spooks, why not organise a Night of Light for the children of the parish and mark the feast of “All Hallow’s Eve, which is the vigil of All Saints. Cor et Lumen Christi have a website with lots of interesting ideas. See www.nightoflight.org

The English NSC is thinking about filming a follow up video/DVD series to “This Promise is forYou”. To help them to discern what would be the most helpful content for such a series, they would like to hear from anyone who has run the initial series for their feedback and ideas. HOD SUFFERS HUGE FLOOD DAMAGE
The House of the Open Door Community in Worcestershire suffered huge flood damage during the very heavy rains in July when the stream nearby burst its banks. All the buildings were affected and the retreat house was particularly badly hit. This was submerged under 6ft in water, ruining all the carpets and beds and many personal belongings and leaving acres of mud to clear up. The students who had come for their summer camp were sent to the Sion Community youth camp in Brentwood and the community had to be evacuated to friends in the village on highe rground. Th ecommunity face extensive costs to cover the damage. Charismatic PILGRIMAGE Of Reconciliation to ASSISI FOR THE ISLES
In response to a prophetic word at the Newman Consultation two years ago, given by Fr Pat Collins, a small band of pilgrims, from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, will be undertaking a walking pilgrimagetoAssisi,asasignofreconciliationbetween the four countries. They will fly from Stansted on 28th September and will walk from Gubbio toAssisi along the Sentiero Francescano della Pace ,arriving at Assisi on Monday 1st October, where they will stay near San Damiano until 5th October, which means they will be able to attend the 800th anniversary celebrations of St Francis’ conversion on 4th October. CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC LEADERS FORMATION COURSE
Inspired by the International Institute for Charismatic Leadership Formation in Rome organised by ICCRS, Neil Hughes, who has recently been elected as a youth representative on the English NSC is running something similar for charismatic leaders in Britain.The course takes the form of 8 weekends during the year (October-June 08) with 6 compulsory and 2 optional weekends. Topics covered include What does it mean to be a leader? what is charismatic renewal? the Holy Spirit in the Bible, practical leadership skills and charismatic spirituality. Each weekend costs £60 but for thos eexperiencing financia ldifficulties there are some bursaries available although it is also recommended that participants try and get sponsorship from other sources too.
