FIRST FOYER DE CHARITE RETREAT IN ENGLAND THIS SUMMER
The Foyers de Charity, a community founded by the famous French Mystic, Marthe Robin, in the middle of the last century will be running their first retreat in England this summer at the Sion Community HQ in Brentwood Essex (21st -27th June 2009). There are 70 Foyers world wide. The main charism of the community is running silent 5 day (preached) retreats to help people come to conversion or to deepen their spiritual lives. It is hoped that a Foyer will eventually be founded in Britain. For more details of their spirituality http://www.foyers.org.uk

CHARISM” NEW LONDON YOUTH EVENT

The venue is near St Pancras station and speakers include David Payne, Steve Murray, Fr Digby Samuels and Matthew Dean with the Cross Streams worship band. London Oasis hopes to connect with other youth ministries in the South East, so that groups with their own gifts and charisms can get involved. WE NEED YOU!!

The Catholic Charismatic Renewal is like a big family and we all need each other to help us in our Christian walk. Please read below for details of how you can help:

WE ARE UPDATING OUR PRAYER GROUP LIST!
The NSC is updating our prayer group list and if you have a prayer group you should have received a letter from Eileen O’Kane asking you for your details. Please return the forms as soon as possible. If you haven’t received one, because our contact details are wrong, or you have started a new group or your prayer group has stopped, please write and let her know. It is really important that we have an up to date list, as we often get requests from people moving into a new area who want the details of local prayer groups. Write to Eileen at 4 Larkswood Court, The Avenue, Highams Park, London E4 9SF or email eileenalana50attalktalk.net

COULD YOU HELP US DISTRIBUTE GOODNEWS IN YOUR PRAYER GROUP?
We are also asking someone in each prayer group, who might be willing, to volunteer to act as a Goodnews Sale/return agent for the group. People who don’t have the funds for a year’s subscription will often buy one if someone takes the responsibility for promoting it in their group. The seller won’t be out of pocket as you only pay for the copies you sell. If Goodnews in the long term is to continue we need to keep the sales of the magazine up, so please help us do this. Or you might think of buying a friend a gift subscription. Contact Goodnews 020 7352 5298 or write to Goodnews, Allen Hall, 28 Beaufort Street, London SW3 5AA or email ccrukatonetel.com

NEW PRAYER GUIDE FOR PENTECOST
We have also produced a special new prayer guide for Easter to Pentecost. See the News page for further details. Please help us to promote this too.

INTERCESSION NETWORK
The Lord seems to be calling us in a special way to a time of intercession for our society, for the Church and the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in particular and its leaders. Those who would be interested in joining the special intercessors network co-ordinated by Fiona Hendy, please contact her to receive the monthly intercessors’ letter of things to pray for and news of what the group feel the Lord is saying. This is particularly suitable for those who are not able to travel to a regular prayer group. The network have a day of prayer and fasting the 2nd Friday of the month. Contact House of the Open Door Community, Childswickham House, Childswickham, nr Broadway, Worcs WR12 7HH tel 01386 852084

DID YOU ENJOY " UNBELIEVABLE" LAST MONTH'S TESTIMONY MAGAZINE?
Cover pageLast month's testimony magazine was produced to act as an evangelistic aid for people wanting to share the Gospel with their neighbours. Stories of people's personal encounters and experiences of God are an excellent and non-threatening way of showing others how God is at work in people's lives through conversion, healing and Divine Providence. The key to using it effectively is to think of someone who is in a similar situation to one of the testimonies in the magazine - ie has a son who is wayward (Glitz to God) or is worried about finding somewhere to live (The Lord Provides) or someone who is having to cope with bereavement (Remembering Jimmy), and pointing out the relevant article to them and suggesting that they might find it encouraging. When they have read the article, this can be followed up with a chat about their reaction to the story and an opportunity to share something of your own faith journey. If you don't know someone who has the same situation as the stories mentioned, why don't you ask them simply for their feedback? Say Goodnews a Catholic magazine you receive regularly has brought out this little book of Catholic human interest stories, and that the Goodnews would be grateful for their feedback about price, content, size etc. Asking would this be the kind of thing they would buy themselves. We actually would be interested in knowing the answers to these questions so do let us know. Order more copies too. ONLY £1 each including postage from the Goodnews Office.
