Elizabeth Lewis tells how she was healed physically and mentally.

LizSeveral years ago I was involved in a car accident, and I was left with damage to my neck, such that I had difficulty moving my head from side to side, or up and down. I had restricted movement in both directions. During the Birmingham CCR conference in 2006, the first one at the Paragon, and also the first one I attended, during a session taken by David Matthews, I was healed of this injury. I felt a ‘pop’ in my neck, and the displaced vertebra which was causing the problem slipped back into place. Since then I have had no further problems with my neck movements.

Two years later, at the 2008 conference, (I missed the 2007 one) after the healing Mass presided over by Fr. Pat Collins, at the end of the healing session, Fr. Pat announced that he was going to process through the hall with the Blessed Sacrament in the Monstrance, and that all depressions would be healed. I was immediately, very excited, and thought, ‘this is for me’, as I had suffered from SAD(Seasonal Affliction Disorder - a depression caused by lack of sunlight) for several years. After that session, I knew that I was healed of this, but of course, SAD does not manifest itself until the dark winter days start drawing on. In October, my husband offered to get out my light box, which I had used for the past few years to help me. He was surprised when I said I would not need it this year, as I had been healed. In fact, I have not needed it at all, and it is now January, and the worst of the dark winter days are usually in January and February, but I have still no need of the lamp, and I do not have any feelings of depression this year. Thank God for His goodness. He has done wonderful things for me.

Ken Brown testifies to a back healing

KenI was forty, in the prime of life. A convert, I was a biology teacher in a Catholic comprehensive school and recently had been baptised in the Holy Spirit. I had a good marriage and four lovely children. Life was good, except for one thing; for many months I had been badly crippled with a “bad back” – and it really was bad! My doctor had given up on it, and on holiday that year I was even unable to drive.

I was due to attend a big charismatic conference at Hopwood Hall in Manchester, and I was hoping to find a healing ministry there. When we gathered in the big hall on the first evening our four speakers introduced themselves. They were all American, three Jesuit priests and a young woman. This was not good news for me; in those days I still disliked Americans – they seemed to be brash, uncultured bullies who went around throwing their weight about all over the world! In fact, these four turned out to be four of the loveliest and most gentle people I’ve ever met.

The young woman was a New Yorker called Carol-Marie Bandini. She gave a three-minute introduction, saying that she intended to talk to us about personal relationships. As she spoke those words I received a powerful inner message from God, convincing me to change my attitude to my oldest daughter Mary. And the following day I suddenly realised that my back was no longer painful. To this day (I’m now 79) it has always been strong and never given me any trouble. I run an allotment and do all kinds of manual jobs at the church. What a healing! Praise God!

20th ANNIVERSARY OF THE HEALING CENTRE AT COCKFOSTERS

Congratulations are due to the volunteers who have kept the Healing Centre at Cockfosters Priory in North London going for the last 20 years. Although they no longer have a premises to operate from, the team still pray regularly for those in need of healing after the Thursday 11.30 Mass every week at the Benedictine priory. Eileen O’Shaughnessy says, “It is amazing we have no formal rota but pray that the Lord will send the people to pray for those who turn up. And without fail it is always the right amount of people. If a lot of the team show up we know that there will be a lot of people to pray for and there is.” There have been many healings over the years and those who aren’t healed receive a lot of strength and emotional and spiritual support from the group.

Mary Herve's Healing Testimony

I was brought up in a Catholic family and have always gone to church. Sometimes through habit but more because of a personal need. However, I was never 100% confident of God’s existence, I just couldn’t see a better reason for our reality and after all, I wanted to believe.

On 27th October, 2007, I slipped a disc in my lower back which severely damaged my sciatic nerve. Six months later, walking had become extremely difficult and I underwent surgery. However, my surgeon made it very clear that the operation was for pain relief only. The damage to my nerve was so severe that nothing could be done to improve my mobility. I now had to come to terms with living with my disability. I went about reorganising my life and, with the help of an adapted car and a mobility scooter, was able to get myself back into part-time teaching. I was happy with my life and knew I would cope.

baptised in the seaIt was during this time that God entered into my life in a most profound way. I wasn’t searching for God or for a meaning to my life, but God was clearly calling me. Over the next few months, He took me on a roller coaster of a spiritual journey, and I met God in a way which left me in no doubt of His existence and of His amazing love for me. God was asking me to commit myself to Him 100% but this was rather scary as I knew without doubt that, if I did this, He would ask yet more from me. With the support and encouragement of my husband and my own Catholic parish priest, my spiritual journey eventually led me to reaffirming my baptismal vows on September 7th 2008, through an Anglican Evangelical service of full immersion in the sea. I can truly say that this was the most fulfilling and beautiful experience of my whole life.

Six days later, following a clear and awe-inspiring revelation from God, I was instantaneously healed and was able to run and move with complete ease. A visit to my doctor confirmed my healing and also the fact that it was medically impossible.

My physical healing is insignificant when compared to my spiritual healing; however it is a visible sign from God for all to see. I have spoken to many hundreds of people since and continue to be amazed and humbled at the way God is using my experience to bring people to know Him better.

Rosemary Beckingham remembers how she was healed of gastritis

RosemaryI was baptised in the Spirit in July 1978, but it was exactly ten years later that I had the first opportunity to attend a charismatic conference in Southampton. One of the speakers at the conference was Dr John Bonicci from Malta. On the Thursday evening a healing service was scheduled, led by the visitors from Malta. It was explained to us that all we had to do was to praise God and that healings would happen!

I did not have any concerns for myself at this time because I had been praying for a young mother who was seriously ill with cancer. Although I had a recurrent problem with gastritis, it was not causing any pain or discomfort during this July.

At the service we praised God with all our hearts and voices. I seem to remember singing “Hosanna” many times. After a while we had a pause for people who had experienced healing to go forward to witness and explain what had happened.

We praised God again and again and suddenly I felt an amazing, glowing warmth spread through the middle of my body. Because it was completely unlike anything I had experienced before, I knew I had been healed of the gastritis. I have never since needed the large bottles of white mixture that occupied the medicine cupboard.

The healing came just before I started a new teaching job. The job had been an answer to prayer, but it was full of difficulties during the first year. I believe that this amazing touch of God was to help me and reassure me that He is always at my side.
